Trevor Betts

About me

I'm a Video Producer currently based out of Chicago, IL. Since 2012 I've worked on a wide range of projects, including short films that have played in festivals across the country, corporate videos for international companies and organizations, marketing and product videos, mini-documentaries, on-set behind the scenes, a lifestyle web-series, and event coverage. I currently primarily work in Premiere Pro and After Effects, but I previously worked extensively in Final Cut Pro 7 and have had some basic training with Avid Media Composer.

 

Although I focus primarily on editing and post-production, I've also had many great experiences directing, producing, and shooting. One of the highlights of my career was having a short film I directed get nominated for best experimental film at DePaul University's 2014 Premiere Film Festival.

 

In the Spring of 2015 I graduated from DePaul University with an M.S. in cinema production, but before I started studying and working in film, I graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in physics. I love science, and I always will, but coming out of school I discovered I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to express myself more creatively. The thing that draws me to editing and post its balance between creativity and technicality. To me it's like a really complicated jigsaw puzzle, or a tough theoretical physics problem. I love the process of solving it, putting it together, and figuring out what works and what doesn't.
